5 Skincare Hacks To Keep You Looking Young

Your skin is the biggest organ in your body, and all too often we take it for granted. It isn’t until we get older, and realize we’ve been ignoring it, that we try to redress the balance, and undo some of the damage we’ve done. However, if you want to keep your skin young, fresh, and healthy, here are some simple things you can start doing right now.

5 Skincare Hacks To Keep You Looking Young

Hack #1: Use Clear Deodorant To Stop Friction

There’s nothing worse than rubbed-raw skin, whether it’s on the backs of your heels, or on your inner thighs. If you have some clear deodorant, though, you can reduce the amount of strain your skin is going to be under, and even prevent blisters from forming. Then, at the end of the day, just wipe the area clear with a damp towel. Deodorant is already made for your skin, so there shouldn’t be any negative effects when you put it somewhere other than your armpits.

Hack #2: Let Your Shaving Cream Sit Awhile

Most of us will pick up our razor as soon as we finish applying our shaving cream, but in reality it’s best to wait a while. Today’s shaving cream is full of moisturizers, and it soothes your skin. If you let it sit for five minutes or so before you take a razor to it, your skin is going to suffer a whole lot less damage than if you just shaved right away.

Hack #3: Frozen Aloe Vera Cubes Are Great on Sunburns

If you want your skin to stay healthy, you know you need to put on sunscreen, and try to mitigate your time under the nuclear ball of light in the sky. Sometimes you misjudge, though, and you wind up with a sunburn. When that happens, you know one of the best things to do is to rub aloe on the afflicted area. It helps your skin recover, and speeds the healing process.

What’s even better, though, is when you take that aloe vera gel, and put it in an ice cube tray. Because a frozen cube of this gel is significantly more soothing on the burn, and it applies slowly as it melts. If you’ve never tried it before, this will become one of your favorite summer time skin care hacks.

Hack #4: Use Glue To Remove Blackheads

Most of us have tried those really expensive strips that you wet, apply, and remove to pull out blackheads. While freeing your pores of their clogs is definitely a good thing, and you should do it regularly, there’s no need to break the bank on the tools. If you take simple, Elmer’s glue (the sort most of us have in our homes) and apply it to a blackhead, you can get it out without damaging the surrounding area. Just apply a small dot of the glue, and let it completely dry for a few hours. Then, peel it off. The blackhead will come off with it, and your skin will able to breathe once more.

Hack #5: Get Your Vitamins

We all know that if you put garbage into your body, then garbage is what you’re going to get. If you have skin problems, changing your eating habits often helps. Cut down on fatty foods, greasy foods, and try to balance your diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and natural food. You can even take it a step further by cutting out smoking, drinking, and out bad habits that can harm your skin. If you really want to be sure your body can take care of itself, though, then be certain you’re getting enough vitamin C (to reverse sun damage, and prevent wrinkles), vitamin E (to help avoid dry skin), and omega-3 fats (to help fortify your skin against harm, and to keep it feeling fresh).
